No Storytime for Fall 2018

The Ballenger Teachers Center will not be hosting a Fall 2018 Storytime Series. Please stay tuned for updates about our Winter Storytime series.

If you are looking for things to do on Saturday mornings during Fall 2018, please consider the following suggestions:

• The 18th Street Farmers Market is open every Saturday morning, 8am-12pm, through September 29.
• Lincoln Log Cabin will be hosting a Saturday Story Series starting in October. View their full line-up on their Facebook page.
• The Charleston Public Library hosts  to see a list of their excellent programming, including Saturday Make and Take events.

BTC Storytime

Our Spring 2018 Storytime series has finished. Please stay tuned for future storytime opportunities in Fall 2018.

Thank you to all the families who joined us for the program this academic year. Overall, we served 49 children in the 2017-2018 academic year.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the RSOs who volunteered their time and talents to the story time program this school year. We could not provide this valuable community outreach without your continued support.

If you would like to schedule your school, homeschool, or daycare group for a special storytime or thematic lesson, please contact Mrs. Michele McDaniel, Ballenger Teachers Center Coordinator to arrange a time to come visit the BTC with your group. I am happy to plan an engaging session tailored to the needs of your group.

BTC Story Time

Join us in the BTC this winter for a series of Saturday Story Times. Story Times are coordinated by the BTC and offered by EIU Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). Each Story Time includes read-alouds on a specific theme and a craft or movement activity related to the story.

Story times are free and open to the public. Stories and activities are geared toward children ages 3-7, however, children of all ages are welcome to attend with their siblings. We hope to see you this winter!

All story times begin at 10am.

Saturday January 27, 2018 – Latino Culture and Three Kings Day (offered by LASO)

Saturday February 3, 2018 – Valentine’s Day (offered by Math Energy Club)

Saturday February 10, 2018 – Fun with Fairy Tales (offered by EIU Librarian, Professor Ellen Corrigan)

Saturday February 24, 2018 – Celebrating Special (offered by Sigma Rho Epsilon)

Saturday March 3, 2018 – Dr. Seuss (offered by Beta Psi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi)
